Hi there! I'm going to try to stick to daily check-ins uploaded on my blog here so that I can keep myself accountable as far as this writing challenge of mine. Even though I hardly doubt anyone is reading this page, the possibility that someone might is a healthy bit of pressure.
Initially, a little congrats to me! I made my "max" goal for the day with 1,037 words, bringing the total to 2,052. Yay. I'm on the fence about rewards because my first instinct is still to reward myself with a sweet treat, but I'm about to receive one in the mail that I have a serious weakness for. I'll decide by tomorrow or Friday.
I'm glad to start the early part of my writing challenge for myself focusing on writing with the time-slots I currently have, because like other writers, I have other obligations and work I'm balancing with the draft. Fingers crossed I'll continue to keep up even when I raise the stakes next week.
If there happens to be another writer reading this, hello! Question for you: How does the drafting process work for you in terms of how you manage it and what your writing work schedule looks like? The difficulty of both having a creative mind with which to come up with story concepts and the wherewithal to externalize that energy must be impressive. Also, for any fantasy writers out there, please receive a respectful shout-out from me for your careful planning and establishment of your magic systems in your worlds, as well as the creation of your worlds in general.
Alas, I am finding it hard to keep my eyes open, so I'll listen to them and rest now. Tomorrow is another day with very similar goals. Until next time, I wish you a lovely day.
